Originally from Spanish Fork, Utah, I received my BFA in Painting from Brigham Young University in 2001 and my MFA in Painting from Utah State University in 2006.
My art focuses on the Hegelian concept of synthesis, both on formal and conceptual levels. Through the use of mixed media and ostensibly disparate images, I explore questions of relationships between ideas and imagery, and seek to find synthesis aesthetically and conceptually.
Since graduation from Utah State, I have continued to create and exhibit my artwork. I have also organized and curated a number of large group exhibitions.
Outside of art, I've been an award-winning newspaper editor and now work as a web designer doing hand-coded HTML and CSS for Izeni in Provo, Utah.
